Well, here we are half way through the Big East slate standing at 14-8 overall and 5-4 in the conference. Blame some of it on youth and some of it on the intangibles (referee's whistle and injuries). Still a decent shot at an at-large bid with many high RPI games on the plate. Thought since I joined this group, I'd infuse some narrative. GO CARDS!!

I have been a Louisville basketball fan for 34 years and what I saw tonight against Marquette was not Louisville basketball. The truth about this team is that they do not deserve to go to the NCAA tourney this year - by at large bid anyway. The only thing that would change my mind is winning the Big East tourney in convincing fashion. This team has not come together at all and thats why I believe we see all the starting lineup changes. Even with the worst UL teams I can remember watching, I can't remember them missing so many shots right around the goal, they have trouble simply passing/catching much less scoring or getting into a flow.  I for one am gonna be glad to see Edgar graduate/move on, whatever. Every time he has the ball he's a split second away from an ill advised shot or a drive that results in a turnover, whoop-de-do missed shot or simply no where to go. He traveled before the layup against Uconn but it wasn't called. It's not all Edgars' fault though because this team consistently makes poor decisions all around (contetsted shot selection, fouling on defense with less than 5 seconds on the shot clock, hoisting 3's 6-7 seconds into the shot clock when we need to protect a lead, etc., etc., etc.) I was really hoping that Jerry Smith would come out of his 2 year shooting slump soon but, oh well. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm looking forward to next year.

The referees hurt us in a couple games....seems in Fball AND bball the refs just don't like the Cards.  I can't remember another team with as many ADMITTED gaffes by the boys in stripes.  Ooops, our bad....sorry that game cost ya.  Tired of hearing that, glad to see they held those guys accountable. Completely ignored the rules/protocol.

Gutty win by them on Sunday at UConn.  Who would have thought getting outrebounded by 25+ on the road they could have pulled that one out.  Sosa gets the nod, but I think Siva handled the ball well.  He really likes to drive and dish, where Sosa is more perimeter oriented.  Kid (Siva) has a nice lookin stroke from outside as well.

Should be solidly in now, but would LOVE to end the year off with a victory over #1 CUSE for the Hall's last game.  Good to see (hopefully) that the last game in FH won't be an NIT game.  That would have been a terrible way to close it out.  Let's hope UL can bring the energy for the next two games, and get two more Ws en route to MSG.
